The competition involves the construction of new "Fusion building" of CSIC in Bellaterra. The premise of the project consists on the demolishing of an existing building (IFAE ship) to build a new technology building respecting those urban conditions of the site.

Description:
The site is located within the university complex UAB, and surrounded by laboratories, highly technical buildings and technology centers. The plot of the contest was occupied by the volume and this occupied almost the entire plot site.
Description:
The building takes its place respecting the existing trees and facilitating the connection with the building of ICMAB. Within the proposal studies the ability to connect the ICMAB laboratories with the new construction Fusion floor 1 and 2; Both buildings share loading dock and if they will contact, they could get to share the lift of the new building.
Description:
The variables for the construction of future building were the result of the constraints of the site and its own implementation. Elements such as the existence of trees 25-30 m tall in the site, the new requirements surface / occupation established within the competition and the need to generate hits and courtyards in the building; factors were point for our proposal FUSION BUILDING.
Description:
We made a study based on the sun exposure of the different facades of the project to choose the best technical solution for future building facades. According to the parameters obtained, a ventilated façade finished with polymer concrete was chosen.
Description:
In the plot site there a trees line about 20 meters high with an average lifespan of between 25-30 years. Consider it appropriate to respect this constraint and try to preserve its original location on the site with the idea that the proposal should not only environmentally friendly but also be respectful with their immediate surroundings. Building an energy simulation were done by proposing a whole series of "active and passive improvements" to optimize the use and promote efficiency of the building.
