Description:

Our Master Plan pretend to differentiate itself as an alternative to the rational geometry creating a common landscape between the buildings and the new park; for that, we developed an artificial topography as well as unify the whole allowed us to separate circulations between pedestrians and vehicles. The proposed system is perceived as a dynamic journey through roads, squares and parks; emerging areas until the end of the solar giving an overall reading of the whole.

Tipology:

Urban planning

Promoter:

Narodowe Sportu Centrum z.o.o

Situation:

Varsovia, Polonia

Year:

2008

Area:

15 ha

Description:

We found an area of 15 ha with a strong lack of urban awaiting the rehabilitation for the new stadium for EuroCup 2012 and the expected context of the new urban / building project which would create a new powerhouse in the city of Warsaw. The site is divided by a large number of different limits; railway, tramway and vehicles, causing the total isolation of the plot.

Description:

Our project shared the protagonism with the new stadium for 2012 and so we wanted to release the content gap between the buildings of our project and the new stadium to give it the prominence it deserved. We configure the Master Plan according to their immediate environment and according to the scale of nearby objects. We wanted its shape that would strengthen points of entry to the park, access to buildings, different circulations, and public spaces around the joint and causing a project where the "walking, playing and being" was not a problem for the "work, shop and car-free. "

Description:

The concept of our study is based on playing with the limits, transitions, with the boundaries between the new football stadium, landscape and the existing buildings; and how to relate all that with a concept of hybridization between park and buildings.

Description:

The contact of these buildings with the landscape implies that these melt, disappear in a dynamic environment and invite the user to walk among them. The group grew as it approached to the city giving it a closer scale to those program points where more functional program was concentrated. The park is maintained at a smaller, more human, more related to the existing park scale. This growing situation routed to north also brought up the maxim possible sunlight and therefore an optimization of light spots within the project.

Site plan

Initial plot site
Lack of urban context

Difference of elevation that could reach in some parts until 6 m
We take this fact to stablish a logic order of circulation between pedestrians and cars

Limit between pedestrian and car o train
Simbolic spine which unify the entire Project

Nuevo estadio para la Eurocopa 2012
Oxygenation of the intermediate space in order to give to the stadium a perimetral crown for the stadium evacuation in case of emergency. This crown will be directly related to the surrounding public space

Relation with the environment
The project is configured according to the nearest objects scale. The proposal try to give continuity to the neighbouring public spaces

The scale
En el proyecto concentramos parte del programa edificatorio en el norte del solar en la zona más cercana a la ciudad. El conjunto crece a medida que acerca a la ciudad
