Situation:

Lleida

Year:

2008

Area:

Description:

The new museum of Environment and Climate is situated on one of the hills of the city of Lleida; Gardeny Hill. This situation in heigth above the rest of the country makes the new museum becomes an important reference point for the entire city. From the site (access point), the building faces the other city icon 'La Seu Vella'. Two buildings, two sights, two references that marks the city.

Description:

The project was set up respecting the existing trees and topography of the site. Their placement was made by those least wooded areas and leveraging that left for the demolition of the existing farmhouse parcel shelf.

Description:

The project conforms to the contours of the site. This fact made that the museum would generate a series of terraces giving to the viewer different views from different levels while taking always the reference of the city and its immediate surroundings.
